CONTEXT
Zodiac, an international industrial group, generated 80% of its revenue with aeronautical equipment and the remaining 20% with the design and manufacturing of inflatable boats and swimming pools. Its shareholders voted to sell the marine branch and Zodiac brand (a household word across the globe) to a private equity firm. CHALLENGE
How to create the identity of a global aeronautical equipment group while capitalizing on the Zodiac brand, but differently? The goal was to use the Zodiac brand in a new way, factoring in the legal obligations binding the company after the marine activity brand was sold. |
SOLUTION
Dragon Rouge selected Zodiac Aerospace as the brand for the new group, leveraging the Z, the recognized emblem of the name, in a new and highly aeronautical configuration. We also tracked down the brand’s original design, patented in 1909, when the company was making blimps and airplanes. A slightly modified version was used to celebrate the contribution the group has made to aeronautical history since the turn of the century. |
